Kathy Huxley Is Online and Her Work Is For Sale
Kathy
Huxley is an oil painter from Brookings,
Oregon. Her love for art began at an early
age. Kathy remembers drawing portraits of the
neighborhood kids and her family
while growing up. She studied art in California
at Ventura College and the University
of California Santa Barbara. She enjoys plein
air painting, portraits, figurative,
landscapes and most recently still lifes.
Kathy’s narrative paintings are an exploration
of multiple views of space with elements of
Christian symbolism. She has also
completed a series of small oil paintings on
wood panels using glazing techniques.
Her work is shown in galleries along the coast of Southern Oregon and Northern California. Kathy’s paintings are in collections around the country. This past year she has been painting still lifes and doing color studies. Kathy’s style has changed from impressionism early on to realism, and more recently to a loose expressionistic brush stroke in her plein air and still life paintings . Kathy and her husband Tom, a photographer, love to travel the Oregon coast hiking and taking pictures. Kathy’s photos have inspired many of her studio paintings. Her artwork can be seen at: http://www.kathyhuxley.com/.

Randall Tillery and Gems
His instruction was excellent. The class had several skill levels and Randall professionally instructed each of us one on one. I was able to finish two pieces and his critique was very helpful on how to improve my work.
Here are my two complete pieces. I would recommend him to any beginning and advanced student. He has gems. Those pieces of art knowledge that takes years to learn on your own.
Here is Randall Tillery's website. http://www.artbytillery.com/

Practicing for the 5 Days 5 Rivers Event Coming in August
I spent some time this week doing studies at the mouth the Winchuck River with a fellow plein air artist. I wanted to prepare myself for the upcoming 5 Days 5 Rivers Event that is being held in Brookings, Oregon in August. This event invites plein air artists to come paint at our local 5 rivers: Smith, Winchuck, Chetco, Pistol and Rogue. All flow into the Pacific Ocean.
Here is one of my completed pieces. It was painted on an 8X10 canvas with oil and brush. It is available for sale at our Brookings Coastal Plein Air Artists website and I accept PayPal.
