I started this painting on location at Loeb Park  with a transparent red oxide under painting and then used other transparent paints to block in the dark areas.
I tried to keep as much under painting as possible and keep it loose. When I started to get too fussy, I walked away from the easel.

Tractor Paintings

Kathy Huxley, Verna Pooler and I got together to paint tractors that were parked along side the North Bank Chetco Road. 
The rancher who owned the tractors stopped by to talk to us. She was wondering why anyone would want to stand outdoors and paint her old tractors.  To us artists that sounded like a funny question.

I took my big van and paint gear to Loeb Park in Brookngs, Oregon. What a beautiful place to swim, camp, fish and plein air paint. It was gorgeous.  I painted this 6"x6" oil painting on gallery wrap and it sold before I could get it in the house. Thank you, Georgeanne!
