What's In A Name? By Eva Marie Tanner Klaas

Sometimes it is more than just the painting that sells the artist's work.  I recently sold a painting of a cat with a crown. I have to admit it was pretty cute and difficult to give up.  I named it "It's Good To Be King".  The happy art collector bought the piece immediately and framed it with the title engraved under the painting.  She loved not only the painting but the title.
Audi Stanton has a wonderful example of naming work. Brookings' coastline has a large amount of driftwood that washes up on the shores.  Some people cannot resist making  these teepee like structures out of the wood.  They are an art form  by themselves.  This structure, in turn, inspired artist Audi  to paint it.  She then named her finished piece with the wonderful  title  "Affordable Beach Front Housing".
