Day 5 - Value Study V -"Joy " By Jennifer Thompson

Day 4 of the 30 in 30 Paint Challenge offered by Leslie Saeta.  Value Study V; Joy. This one was hard. Because the subject was very personal, my daughter who is now grown and about to ship out, I tightened up. I tightened up so much that now I am done my arms ache and during the session, I found myself holding my breath. My time for these studies is very limited...the duration of a two-year-old's nap! My youngest is at sea, deployed, so our grandson lives with us. A third daughter is also deployed at sea. All my children. This painting challenge is helping me work through the worry and grief and the time spent painting is healing.

    The title is perfect! When I saw this one on the challenges for today, it immediately made me think of taking my boys to the playground (: I'm glad that painting it (and continuing to paint through the challenge) has provided you an outlet for your worries. I look forward to seeing the future paintings.
